Young players carried Manchester United to victory over West Ham United. MU manager Erik ten Hag emphasized that his team’s future is very bright!

Rasmus Hojlund’s goal and another pair from Alejandro Garnacho brought MU to beat West Ham United at Old Trafford, Sunday (4/2/2024) evening WIB. This result continues the positive trend of the ‘Red Devils’ in 2024.

They are unbeaten in five matches this year, picking up four wins and one draw. This progress cannot be separated from the contribution of young players such as Hojlund (21 years), Garnacho (19), and Kobbie Mainoo (18).

Hojlund scored four goals and two assists in those five matches. Meanwhile Garnacho and Mainoo each had two goals.

Hojlund’s collaboration and connection with Garnacho up front seems to have improved recently. In the middle, Mainoo appeared mature and increasingly confident as Erik ten Hag continued to give him confidence.

“I’ve said before in the last few months, Manchester United’s future is very bright. We have a number of high potential players, we can play fluid football, speed up the tempo when we need to and can defend well,” said Ten Hag to indsport, after match against West Ham.

“Today’s goals show young players with great potential. They are used to Premier League standards. They are growing with every game and developing and adapting to a higher level.”

“When they enjoy the game, confidence appears and you can see that confidence growing.”
