Barcelona and Frenkie de Jong are still filled with drama. The player has not yet extended his contract and reportedly objects to a salary cut, Barca might also sell him!

Last summer, it was reported that Frenkie de Jong was being targeted by Manchester United. This did not happen, because De Jong chose to stay at Camp Nou and Barcelona still needed his services.

Reporting from indsport, Barcelona and Frenkie de Jong’s ‘drama’ is apparently not over yet. Now, Barcelona wants De Jong to extend his contract until the summer of 2028, when his contract expires in the summer of 2026.

The 26 year old player has not given any signs of extending his contract. Barca doesn’t like it.

On the other hand, Frenkie de Jong reportedly objected to the salary cut rule. As is known, De Jong is the player with the highest salary at Barcelona with 18 million Euros per season or the equivalent of IDR 303 billion.

Barcelona is thinking of ways to make money. They believe the central midfielder’s price could be around 100 million Euros or the equivalent of IDR 1.6 trillion.

But again, Barca cannot sell De Jong if the player chooses to stay. If they fail to sell De Jong in the summer of 2024, Barca will inevitably have to sell him in the winter the following year so that De Jong’s price is still quite high.
